If you went to the 1980 Castro Street Fair you could get a free shuttle bus to the Trocadero for the Troc's Castro Street Fair Tea Dance. DJ Bobby Viteritti brought the music and Billy Langenheim provided the light.
The Troc, like all dance clubs at that time had a drugs reputation. The owners would turn a blind eye until the authorities would get on to them about it and threaten them with closure. Usually the club owners would then have to portray themselves as being offended and angry that their members are using drugs. After two years as the Troc's number one DJ, on December 10th 1980 DJ Bobby Viteritti sent out an official letter to let the Trocadero Transfer members know that he was leaving the club's employ. Bobby had set the tone for the way the musical trip was performed at the Troc. DJs Mike Lewis and Craig Morey took up the mantle after Bobby left and did a great job.
