The Trocadero Transfer had this very tasteful float for Gay Pride 1979. At this time the Troc's signature colors were always dark red and silver or gray. Second from left facing the camera is lighting guru Billy Langenheim. The lady in red is Ms Taana Gardner telling us all to "Work That Body!"
Another shot of the Troc float in '79. We would love to have some of those Trocadero coveralls and caps. Oh, and the Troc balloons! That looks like Dick Collier with his back to the camera on the left. Billy Langenheim is in profile shot. Notice back then that when you gave a gay man some coveralls to wear he had to accessorize and cinch the waist in with a belt, roll up the sleeves to show his arms off and open the front to reveal his bare chest!
We're not sure what year this picture was taken of the Trocadero Transfer's gay pride float. It looks early, there's lots of pyramids to reflect the Troc logo and there in the background wearing the chrome hard hat we think is Douglas the membership manager. We don't know who the leather/Levis hunks are in the foreground though. Do you?
This autographed picture of DJ Gary Tighe in the Trocadero Transfer DJ booth was found in a wallet of keepsakes belonging to Dick Collier. Gary has written, "I love Jimbo, Gary Tighe '78." Jimbo was the much loved doorman at the Troc.
